Welcome to a land of strange stories and weirdly-spun yarn, where oddities and unmentionables lurk behind every tale. Here you will witness the plight of the mysterious Heckbender, suffer the misadventures of Derring-Do Dan, learn the unsettling secret of the Slynderfell Ice Cream Cavalcade, and behold the unraveling of The Bogey. A word of caution: stay on the sidewalks, avoid shortcuts through Halfrock Swamp, and do NOT under any circumstances make business transactions with C. Percival Trullus.

I would definitely clear more of the creepy forest away from the cabin, it’s a fire hazard too.

“Trust in me, just in me
Shut your eyes and trust in me
You can sleep safe and sound
Knowing I am around
Slip into silent slumber
Sail on a silver mist
Slowly and surely your senses
Will cease to resist
Trust in me, just in me
Shut your eyes and trust in me"
(Python Song, Jungle Book)
Don’t go to sleep, boys, or another of you may vanish from sight and mind.

A pleasant walk on a crisp autumn day, and back by dusk! —What could seem more ominous? I look forward to Monday with trepidation! [Or are we still getting weekend extras?]

I would like to see a character called Merlin Monroe – what a curious image that name conveys!

@Sisyphos
You want ominous? Look at the colors. Twilight precedes the dark. No more bright colors.

“You know how it goes in the song,
‘cause Rafer came back the very next day,
we thought he was a long gone
but he wouldn’t stay away.”

Whoa. Just the chapter title alone is quite a cliffhanger! I can’t stand such suspense, I think I’ll have to take a two-week break and return when I can read it without the feeling of needing to hide in the closet!
