Recently widowed Lola moves in with her son, Ray, and his family at his request. The potential disasters of Lola living with her anally retentive adult son and family provide the backdrop for a hilarious story about life. Life according to Lola, that is. Lola is a witty sharpshooter who’s too busy living life to the fullest to worry about political correctness, exercise and proper diet. She’s fiercely independent and struggles with having to live under Ray’s rules…so she doesn’t. A wicked sense of humor and blunt, but often heart-warming honesty are Lola’s tools of trade.

LEST WE FORGET
I’m glad to see “BC” writers Mastroianni and Hart haven’t forgotten … but nearly every cartoonist has decided their strips are too important for posting Remembrance/Armistice/Veterans Day accolades in. SHAME ON YOU Todd!

Don’t ‘shame’ me without knowing me. I do visits at our local V.A. throughout the year, drawing for our Vets. i’ve gone to San Antonio Brooke Army medical Center to visit with and draw for severely injured soldiers. I’ve gone on USO trips to Germany, Kuwait and ‘Undisclosed Locations’ to draw and visit our men and women in uniform. I don’t live my life thru my comic strip. that said, thank you for reading.

Well said! We each remember (and serve) in our own way. Those who judge us by their own narrow view are doing themselves a disservice. Thank you for all you have done and will do in the future!

Thanks. You have to have pretty thick skin to put your name out there everyday for people to judge your work. I’m fine with comments if someone didn’t think a particular joke was funny, that comes with the territory. But as an Air Force brat and someone who will drop anything to help out our troops, this irked me. BESIDES the fact that Lola runs in countries from South America to India. I have to think of those readers as well. PLUS I did a tribute on Memorial day for those who gave their lives for us. There. Rant done. Back to drawing mediocre comics.

Nope. Not mediocre! I’ve been enjoying Lola for quite some time, now. Especially the ones with her crocheting/knitting.
