That silly question again? It simply depends on your definition of sound. If sound is defined as the reception of the waves produced by the falling tree by creature, machine, or whatever, then no sound is made. If sound is defined as the waves produced by the falling tree, then of course there is sound because the waves are there whether received by anything or not.

Of course the tree makes a sound. It doesn’t matter if anyone is there to hear it or not. Just because I don’t see the bear sh$# in the woods, doesn’t mean I won’t watch where I step.
