    What the heck…is that a sore spot Torti…? Black and white is good, we watched all of those old shows/movies on our TV for years…

    LD frowning!? That’s new. Did the old crab, er, Tortoise, finally get to him?

    @Jo Clear (aka: Grasshopper)

    On a tangent….much has been said about violence on children’s TV. We in the ’50s had Mighty Mouse, Heckel and Jeckel, Tom and Jerry, Elmer Fudd and Daffy…plenty of cartoon “violence” and no one I knew ever thought of imitating any of them. Was it because of the black-and-white? Did it provide a kind of wall? Or was it a difference in the world around us? Just a thought.

    That cartoon violence was so unreal there’s no comparison to reality. The newer stuff is quite real and the live action stuff is horribly realistic. In the past, the good guys didn’t kill or injure indiscriminately. Times have changed.
