It has been a week since the “Grand Tortoise” told Little Dog’s tortoise companion that he “he could be hit by a bus tomorrow.”

Joe, comic strip time stretches and contracts as needed for a running joke. In Little Dog’s world, all of this has happened in one day.

You can be right since a dog’s year is equal to 7 years, they say.
Therefore a dog’s day is equal to 7 days.
But, on Sunday, the tortoise was not with Little Dog when the dog talked to the chameleon who was up in a tree.
