“I don’t care what they do,” Boehner said when asked on Thursday whether his rhetorical flogging of these tea party backed groups over the past two days amounted to a directive for them to cool it.

Boehner said on Wednesday that they were “misleading their followers.” On Thursday, he escalated the rhetoric and effectively dismissed them.

“Frankly, I just think that they’ve lost all credibility.”

A two-year budget for the first time since the ‘80s. No shutdowns can be threatened before 2015. And the debt ceiling is enough of a mess the Republicans wouldn’t dare touch it in October, and won’t dare touch it in February. So we’ll continue to continue.

The CEOs said at the Chamber of Commerce meeting last summer that this step, a ‘long term budget’, was one of the first things needed in order for them to make hiring, infrastructure upgrades, and innovation investments. I’ll be curious to see what happens next.
I think that’s what the Founders wanted though… a system of gov’t that could adapt and improvise in order for the democracy to continue to continue. Perhaps a little stability for a short time will make people realize that compromise isn’t a ‘four letter word’.
    Be well, Michael.

Spending that was approved by previous administrations. After saving the auto industry and the economy from collapsing in 2009, Obama’s approved spending has been modest.

House GOP 169 Zombies voted For this Fraud “cuts” budget…which immediately raises spending and hikes taxes but puts “cuts” off into the future depending on renegers for the next 10 years to get a spittoon-full of “cuts”….
    -
GOP Senators, cut off at the knees by Democrat leader Reid, is making grumbling noises about the House bill, and voters will soon see how many GOP Zombies vote “yes” as the Dems need only 5 GOP votes to pass this charade of a bill.
    -
We need a 2014 Tea Party Voter Revolution!

I take it, Tim, that you enjoy being mired in antiquity..
that you like the concept of pre-judging.
Like it or not, "ObamaCare is the wave of the future…when people learn to coopperare…and love…rather than all the hatred and fear that we have today ..

Neither conservative NOR liberal are wrong….
What we need is a balance between the two.
But we must stop regressing to our Constitution(written/designed hundreds of years ago.
We must PROGRESS to the future…We must use what we have learned over the past centuries….
I sometimes wonder if we have learned anything !

I’d rather read the words of wisdom rather than yours ..MrConservative…I now believe that this so-called spending spree ( and I do not know if this is true ), may have been necessary….for our nation to enter the 21st century…

    “Big Gov”
Our government should be as “big” as necessary to get the job done.
    Education
    Health Care
    Infrastructure
    national defense
    jobs
    Note the first one…..
And to the tea baggers , the year is 2013, NOT 1713 !
