They are already back setting up shop with the Taliban in Afghanistan since they know Barry will flee.
Hopefully there will not be a fundraiser in Vegas or important sleep to get the next time they attack.

If there had been an attack, even if unsuccessful, this (not so)comic strip and the other ones like it would have been lined up attacking the President for not doing enough to stop it.

Gah-lee. If only The Decider were still in office. He’d know where to invade.

Maureen Dowd and other left-wing columnists say Bush, Jr knew all about 9/11/‘01 and did absolutely nothing and must be blamed. I have personal experience and saw with my own eyes that Ms Dowd is completely wrong about that.

The threat was classified Top Secret, just as Obama classified the rumour of a plot in Yemen to hijack an aeroplane and had police raid the AP and seize all their computers to track down who leaked that rumour.

    Bush, Jr had no leaks.

I went to visit an American Embassy in summer ’01 and was almost shot. A Pakistani had asked me to go to the Embassy to inquire about getting him a visa as a religious cleric to spread Islam in the US, and I had agreed.

The Embassy was closed, and every Pakistani knew it was closed and that they had threatened to shoot anyone who approached. I was the only person in the entire city who didn’t know, because they didn’t tell any Americans since they didn’t want to alarm us. Shoot us as a terrorist, yes. Alarm us, no. (Obviously, had I been shot, I would, by virtue of having been killed, be a posthumous terrorist killed while trying to detonate a thermonuclear weapon, but I managed to get out of rifle shot range before they decided to shoot me.)

So Bush, Jr, knowing there would be an attack in ‘01 (probably in summer or fall), and having been told the attack would be a suicide bomber blowing up an Embassy, secretly closed all the Embassies and put the security staff on high alert.

After previous fiascos, Obama this time publicly closed the Embassies and put the security staff on high alert. This way, he won’t have to spend the money sending Federal agents to raid newspaper offices when the story gets out.

    Thrift, Horatio, thrift.

I’d rather an amoeba be in charge, instead of the empty skull we’ve got now.

So, now all the terrorists have to do is just threaten to take action, and we’ll shut down all our embassies and consolates across the globe? That’s a cheap way on their part to do a lot of expensive damage to us without firing a shot.

“They are already back setting up shop with the Taliban in Afghanistan since they know Barry will flee.”

The President doesn’t have to flee. There was a tentative withdrawal schedule that was set up by Bush and finalized by Obama. All the Taliban has to do is wait it out in Pakistan and then move back in when we leave.

In a mild echo of Vietnam:

We win the battles and then withdraw from Afghanistan hanging the people out to dry. The Taliban return and recreate something like the killing fields of Cambodia. The upper end of the hierarchy of Afghanistan flees with billions they skimmed from our aid to their country. We will again have wasted thousands of lives because we did not have the fortitude to see a commitment through to it’s end.

We will then argue for years from our personal political viewpoints about Afghanistan with each side omitting the mistakes that “our” side made and pointing out the mistakes that the other side did when we should look at our involvement pragmatically and learn lessons from that involvement.

    History will repeat itself.

So, what is the problem with shutting down embassies in countries that have declared their never ending hatred of all things American?

Shoot, are we not in a “budget crisis”? And yet we give away billions of dollars to the very people hell bent on the destruction of the western way of life. Along with further billions in arms and munitions. AND maintaining a “military” presence in and around the area.

Shut it ALL down for good. Let the people decide what kind of government they want. We do NOT need their oil, having plenty of our own.

yeah, nothing like a religious fanatic in control to bring out the best in a nation.

    just a thought.

Only the zero information voters believed His Grand And Glorious Oneness Demanding Worship had terrorists on the ropes. Voters with functioning brains could see past that lie.
