Reasonable gun laws will make it easier for the good guys whose job it is to protect our society, to catch and prosecute the bad guys!
Such laws should not be opposed by even reasonable and thinking conservatives, let alone moderates and reasonable thinking liberals. Do you exist within those categories or not?

Benson is a lot more like Wyle Coyote than the road runner. She buys Acme, but gets outsmarted on every issue.

There’s already thousands upon thousands of gun laws on the books. Why don’t we just start enforcing some of those? Chicago has some of the toughest gun laws in America…not working so well there on a daily basis.

First of all, it’s “Wile E. Coyote”
Second, BOY, you sure know how to clear things up!!! I mean, like, WOW! You sure told US how Benson always gets outsmarted….um…that is…wait, what? Did you have a point…?

The guns laws as they are now make it easier for the bad guys and harder for the good guys to stop them. I am starting to think some of the fools that make those gun laws are in fact working for the wrong side.

“Non-lethal is one step to improve the picture..IMO..”

Do I carry a gun? No. But I wouldn’t bring pepper spray to a gun fight either.

3d printing and “smart guns” are going to change this debate. It would be beneficial to law enforcement and our neighbors for background checks to be made nationwide, however, over the next few years, we will see 3d printing machines come down in price, the quality of the products made improved, and the availability of items created widened. At that point, gun makers themselves may become superfluous as people have their plastic and ceramic and metal weapons custom made for style and purpose.
This cartoon shows one extreme. There are people who feel the cartoon doesn’t go far enough because the gun owner still owns a gun.
Why is our nation being led by extremists? Whether from the left or the right, a minority of very loud, very uncivil, and very aggressive individuals are grabbing the attention of the media and the rest of America is left to believe we have two choices… the hard right, or the hard left.
There are other choices. Compromise, experimentation, and education – these choices, combined with civility and respect, once birthed a nation. The lack of civility and respect may well bring that same nation down.

Headline this morning; 5 confirmed dead in shooting rampage including the gunman.

Yesterday afternoon in Santa Monica, CA, man was standing on a street corner with an AR-15 rifle shooting at vehicles including a city bus. He attempted to carjack at least two passing cars. Later he was fatally shot by police in the library of the Santa Monica College. This left two passersby dead on the street and two more bodies were found in a home that were believed to be the father and brother of the gunman.

Off hand I’d say that Lisa Benson has got to have possibly the most piss poor timing of anyone I’ve ever seen judging by the content of her (not so) comic strip this morning.

That’s one of the MOST absurd replies I’ve yet seen! Did I SAY we shouldn’t have any rules? OR did you NOT understand my clear meaning of enforcing the laws we ALREADY have? Hello!!!! McFly!!!!! Anybody home????

    “I stand with the President.

People at Amazon, Facebook, Google, know what you post, have a record of what you buy, can probably read your chats, are making the connections between your “friends” and what you purchase. For all we know, Facebook, Amazon, Google, etc., may all “talk” to each other (e.g., are connected). Anyone with a credit card has their purchases tracked.
“None of this surprises me or disturbs me.
“What does? Falling bridges. Children murdered. Head Start funding threatened. Congress do-nothings.

I don’t check into these comments as much as I used to. Has anyone bothered to correct this ‘PianoGuy’ on his decrepit rhetoric . . . that even the NRA has abandoned? Or am I troll-feeding here?

Dude, maybe you should expend some effort and look at the laws current on the books.

Everything needed to catch and hold the “bad guys” is already there.

Unfortunately, you also have laws that release them back into society to do harm again, and the laws on the books are not enforced. Just one example is the law stating that all sales – even those at gun shows in fla. – are subject to a background check. They just don’t do it and there are not enough officers in the state to enforce that rule.

Making that law “tougher” will do nothing to keep guns out of the hands of the “bad guys”.
