Well, while I don’t support more war, I think the threat of war is enough to keep small-world dictators in line. Sometimes the perception of willingness to go to war is enough to avoid war. For instance, how many countries in the middle-east were rabble-rousing? How many times did Kim Jong Il launch missiles at Japan/The US? These things didn’t happen because they knew President Bush was willing to wield the world’s greatest military power. Obama, not so much. His only military actions have been to drop bombs, bow to kings, and pull out of countries. He doesn’t have an aura of authority or command. He has an aura of an Orator, and one of salesmanship. This is not what we need from the most powerful man in the free world. And this is why so many conservatives are barking and screaming. Not because we think we should be going to war. It’s because everyone knows he won’t. Maybe he should take a few pages from Clinton’s playbook on a lot of things. While not perfect, Clinton was a far better leader. And that’s what we need.
