Obama’s stealing Eddie Murphy’s routine as Mr. Robinson!

Same old hypocrisy. Benson never made a peep when Bush ran up the deficit on his wars. How many jobs did that create?

Tax revenue is at a 50 year low as a percentage of national income. Anyone who wants to talk about the deficit without acknowledging that fact is not being honest.

“Tax revenue is at a 50 year low”

Maybe that has to do with Obammy’s horrible job record. When less people are working(or even bothering to look for work) and others can only find part-time, low wage jobs, it’s no mystery why tax revenue is so low.

It certainly isn’t low because Barry has been lowering taxes.

“There is no reason why, in a society which has reached the general level of wealth ours has, (the certainty of a given minimum of sustenance) should not be guaranteed to all without endangering general freedom; that is: some minimum of food, shelter and clothing, sufficient to preserve health. Nor is there any reason why the state should not help to organize a comprehensive system of social insurance in providing for those common hazards of life against which few can make adequate provision.” Fredrich von Hayek

Yes, THAT von Hayek, the very guy RePubs are constantly quoting along their imagined ‘road to serfdom.’ When does ignorance begin? When we ignore the world before us.

    Why stop now?

All the negativity is most of the problem.

    Just keep faking it.

@Uncle Joe – Those wars fueled all sorts of jobs, mostly in the Military/Defense industry (Planes, bombs, tanks, etc.) but also in Support services: Blackwater, Food contractors, transportation, rebuilding contracts, the list goes on.

I’m not a fan of the wars; don’t get me wrong…But personally I much prefer the government spend it’s money on goods and services rather then on passing out goodies to anyone that doesn’t feel like they are getting their fair share.

Bush has been gone for more then 4 years now and the libs still use him as the excuse for why Obama’s failed policies haven’t improved the lot in life of the lazy and the stupid.

You don’t see Republicans griping about Clinton and his demands that bankers lax up on loans to people who couldn’t afford them – Arguably the most culpable in the housing bubble. You don’t see us blaming LBJ for his idiotic war on poverty as the reason this country is in it’s morass. Give it a rest on the Bush front.

The path to American greatness is paved with Freedom and a sense of Self sufficiency. The path to Mediocrity that we seem to be on now is paved with Dependence and a sense of entitlement.

Then the Bush tax cuts, that undermined the Clinton/Gingrich balanced budget, SHOULD have eliminated the National Debt in no time.
    Right?

Generational theft has been going on for many, many administrations. Blaming only Obama seems disingenuous (although the government is doing it now at an accelerated pace).

Lisa Benson will always blame Obama for everything because she’s a tea party Republican first and a cartoonist second.

As far as the “generational theft” goes, Ms. Benson is doing her part to disseminate a new GOP buzzword. It’s intention is to deflect the fact that there are a bunch of people TODAY who were stolen from beginning back in Reagan’s time.

    @Ms. Ima

NEVER in history has that proven true. Any example you can proffer has some extenuating circumstances that prove the tax cut alone was not the reason for the increased revenue. Or are you talking about reagan’s magic hihgly promoted “Tax cuts” while ignoring the hush-hush tax hikes that were required when he realized his tax cuts weren’t working? Or how about how those “tax cuts” increased revenues so much that st. ronnie nearly TRIPLED the nations debt in his 8 years as travesty-in-chief?

Yes because Obama is directly to blame for corporations shutting down established manufacturing facilities in the US and outsourcing to China. It’s been going on since at least the George H. W. Bush Administration, but it’s all Obama’s fault.

Um, let’s get two things straight, President Obama’s “failed policies” are in large part a result of the obstruction of the republicans in Congress. If they had (GASP!!!!!) worked with him during the “lost” 4 years of his administration for the good of ALL Americans then we would be in a much better place. But what little progress that has been made is in spite of the republicans’ lack of effort, not because of it.

And on to the bigger point, baby bush may have been gone for 4 years now, but his legacy is still with us. It is still the anchor dragging us down. I’ve posted this before but I guess I have to slap you with it again, because you obviously didn’t learn it the first 8 times,
Just in his eight calendar years as president bush added $4.9 trillion to the deficit. He took a PROJECTED budget surplus and refused to pay down the debt instead favoring massive tax breaks for his friends, with minor tax breaks for the serfs to appease them. If you only include his fiscal years bush added over $6 trillion to the debt. President bush squandered national treasure. Add to that a minimum $3 trillion in legacy costs for President bush’s policies and wars. So to that end king george has effectively added over $9 trillion to the national debt. So with the debt standing at $16.8 trillion as of 4/1/2013 that means that president george W bush is responsible for more debt than ALL other presidents combined. Check my figures, the facts are there, at www.treasurydirect.gov.

Yep, lots of money to a few special people, close friends and contributors to the administration. Special treatment, no bid contracts, billions in waste, fraud abuse, missing funds. Get the bill, pay the bill, no questions, no audits.

Please do tell us, just what did we get for our trillions of dollars borrowed and spent?

So the military is a government jobs program? Well, great. We can spend money to kill people in other countries, but repairing and improving our own infrastructure? Why, that’s socialism!
