If this was happening with a Republican president, you libs would be screaming about the corrupt Republicans and their rich friends, but as always, when it involves Obama or some other Democrat, you hypocrites don’t have a problem.
Don’t be silly. Progressives and those you call liberals didn’t scream when Bush did pretty much the same thing. We disapproved, but it was to be expected from a Republican, so there wasn’t that much fuss. On the other hand, there is in fact a lot of criticism coming from the “left” over this from Obama… I guess you’re not in the loop on what we’re really saying to each other.
As people have looked away in disillusionment and frustration, we know what’s filled the void. The cynics, and the lobbyists, and the special interests who’ve turned our government into a game only they can afford to play. They write the checks and you get stuck with the bills, they get the access while you get to write a letter, they think they own this government, but we’re here today to take it back. You know, once again you have made a statement and not provided any proof of that statement.. You said: " liberals didn’t scream when Bush did pretty much the same thing."
Alright,, taking into account that “pretty much the same thing” may broaden the scope of what can be taken as “paying for access” to the President, I googled “did donors pay for access the president bush”. That got me 2.1 million hits and the first reference that indicated something of like nature was this:
The article says a a lobbyist could arrange meetings with “key administration officials” for a 6 figure donation to the library in Texas. I assume it is the presidential library.
See how easy that is? Still, it is strange to think that this is acceptable to anyone.

Although this ’toon may be aimed at Obama, it is probably timeless and will still be applicable during the next presidency, and the next, ….and the next,….etc.
Mix a snifter of Bill Mauldin, a dash of Jeff McNelly and a very large dollop of common sense, and you begin to get an idea of Lisa Benson’s considerable talent.
