The same Americans who carry an average balance of $10k on their credit cards, who don’t believe federal deficits matter, who think the national debt will never come due, and who vote for Mr. Obama to get more free stuff, are in for one heckuva rude awakening. My prediction: the next four years will be worse than the last four. Hello Greece!

You of course realize you are describing the Republicans here not the Dems with this first part.

The last four years are much better than what came before them, Unemployment is down and the projected trend is it will continue. The International Energy Agency is predicting the USA will become the number one producer of Oil and Natural Gas in five years, and this without opening up more federal lands for drilling and without more welfare for the rich (tax cuts)

It’s pretty cool how Dems can give away stuff for free and nobody has to pay for it. I know it defies logic, but oh well, let the good times roll.

The Republican Party Used to be the Fiscally Responsible Party. They didn’t start wars with no way to pay for them. They believed in spend what you have, not borrow to make certain elements of the party wealthy at the expense of the rest of the country by starting a war we couldn’t afford then rebuilding infrastructures that we destroyed for the sole purpose of rebuilding them. True Conservatives like Senator Goldwater and Republicans before Reagan would be appalled at the Neo-Con mentality.

You show you know nothing about government economics. With a billion jihadists waiting in the Islamic Dominion of Canada and the Islamic Republic of Mexico, our essential defence expenditures don’t count as part of the budget, so no matter how much we spend on the military, that does NOT count as part of the deficit.

On the other hand, when people pay for unemployment insurance, that money is targeted to defend the US against jihadists and incentivise job creators, and must never be squandered paying those laid off layabouts.

Likewise, the money people were taxed for Social Security and Medicare is needed for vital purposes like the oil depletion allowance, and cannot be wasted on indolent elderly hypochondriacs.

We must have all those unemployment payments, Social Security payments, and Medicare payments kept and used to balance the budget!

I wonder how much it costs me to provide contaceptives? I wonder how much MORE it would cost me to support an ever-increasing horde of snot-nosed welfare babies? Not to mention having to put up with the wretched little vermin in public places!

Oops, seems O has re-defined the word ‘unemployment’ to not include those unemployed by natural disasters.
Unemployment is up. New employment is less than the birth rate.
Taxing the rich (actually it will be taxing everyone but you think that the knife will only cut the fat and not to the bone) will run the government for a month or 2. Then what?
