Is this how Lisa believes the two parties treat the ‘voters’?
Respectful Troll said, 8 months ago
Ms. Benson’s N2 work does seem to represent how voters are treated by our bipartisan confusers, but it is actually the media who has made poll numbers more important than policies, issues, history, facts, truth, qualifications, etc, etc.
We are being poorly served by journalism and being richly served, in the most negative sense, by our politicians. Too many people are taking unfair hits as the parties compete with one another, considering their constituents to be elements of the game instead of the reason the game exists.
It is a dishonorable way to treat people who send their elected officials to DC with such hope, even prayers.
We deserve better.
Respectfully,
C.

No, this is how you mis-interpret a cartoon.
Did you notice the label on the paddles?

Well, I remember when George H.W. Bush was running for a second term and it looked like a landslide for him, then Hurricaine Andrew hit and, whatdoyaknow, Bill Clinton was elected….. Maybe the same thing now?

It’s a mystery to me why polls even matter anymore. I mean, sure, back in the day, a lot of people thought “I want to know who’s winning so I can back them and be a winner too!”, but these days most people are so entrenched in their choices that I can’t imagine them caring what other people think of anything at all.

@Respectful Troll
Well said.

Does anyone really vote because the polls tell them who they should vote for? And if so, shouldn’t we be frightened? As we all know, 84.6 percent of all statistics are made up on the spot.

“Did you notice the label on the paddles?”
.
Yes I did. Did YOU notice the one guy is wearing a blue tie and the other is in red suspenders (and no, I don’t think that means he’s a fireman)?
.
The cartoonist refers to the notion that polls are biased depending on which party they favor.
.
Meanwhile, 538 is putting out the data that even Republicans are now saying is the closest to the probable outcome. Obama with over 300 Electoral votes.
.
Mitt was never even in this race. He NEVER had the numbers in the electoral college. He is slipping in the popular vote in the Electoral vote and his probability of winning is at around 20% (which means it could happen, but it is no where near Probable.)
.
Mitt knows he’s most likely going to lose, otherwise he wouldn’t be throwing up Hail Mary’s like they were dimes from JD Rockefeller!

.
You’ve never been a Yankees fan, have you?
.
But, what you say makes a lot of sense.
.
That’s why the truer indication of the winner is who people say when asked “Who do you think is going to win the election?”
.
If I recall correctly, I didn’t. Obama leads by between 13 and 24 percentage points. A lot more of those polled think that Obama will win than think Romney will win.

I haven’t yet referred to a poll, and I won’t this time. I pay no attention to the polls, I pay attention to policy. I don’t know who’s going to win, but I do know that Obama’s polices are far better than Romney’s. That’s the only poll that matters to me.

Lisa doesn’t seem to understand the concept of “swing states”. Why am I not surprised? She doesn’t understand anything else.
