The voters were lied to by the far “right” conservative corporate-owned media.

Benson, the “voters” did re-elect Pelosi. Voters don’t elect Speakers or Minority leaders, or haven’t you heard that little factoid. Lame, lame toon.

^^ it’s a very lame toon. Voters have nothing to do with who becomes Speaker, or who becomes Minority leader. Their votes determine which party is in the majority, not whom their leaders are. The GOP chose to run as if Pelosi was on the ballot because she has become a negative figure. This toon continues that misinformation and is still very lame; members of the House Democrats can and will vote for whomever they want.

The voters sent a message about leadership in Washington. I doubt anyone but Nancy Pelosi thinks that she should still be a national figurehead of the party.

The Republicans did to Pelosi what the Democrats did to Palin and Bush. It just worked better for the Republicans.

Pelosi must have been a product of the sixties “Hell no, I won’t go”.

Pelosi was a great speaker of the house. The rabid right wouldn’t have attacked her with so many empty criticisms if she weren’t being effective.

If only the senate had been as effective, we’d have a public option in the health care reform, and we’d have an attempt to deal with climate change – which is even a bigger threat to America than the expiration of the Bush tax cuts.

Howie, I don’t get your comment at all. If I was being loyal to Pelosi, I’d be ranting about how she should be elected Minority Leader. I’m not. It doesn’t matter to me. It’s a decision of the Dems and that’s exactly what it should be. Same as for GOP and its leadership positions internally.

Lib1: The Republicans did to Pelosi what the Democrats did to Palin and Bush. It just worked better for the Republicans.

First, your analogy fails the smell test. Isn’t analogous. Not even close. What did the Dems do to Bush, anyway? Disagree with him? OK, that’s democracy. What did the Dems do to Palin? Think she was a very poor choice for VP candidate? Yup, so did the majority of the American people. Yes, American people, lib1, not right or left, or Dems or Reps. The only thing Palin has been elected to is Gov. of Alaska, which she quit mid-term. The county said no to McCain and Palin.

You, and others, keep missing such a straightforward simple thing. The Speaker of the House is not a national office; it is a leadership position for the Majority party. Different Speakers approach the job differently. Gingrinch treated it as national office and hoped to take it to the presidency. Pelosi treated it as an inside leadership position and was effective at getting legislation passed, even though many of the bills never got out of the Senate.

The GOP ran against Pelosi as if she was a national office holder, and it helped them because she was effectively demonized. Explaining why it was effective is worthy of a long essay.

Sometimes you make so little sense.

I never thought much of Pelosi’s “leadership”(impeachment is off the table). The potential of what Boehner might lead the House to makes me think of the county pound. That they’ve picked Greg Walden to “lead” their “transition” says as much or more about where they’re headed:blatant lying and incompetence WILL be the order of the day.
