I’m really impressed by the fact that every senator and congressman is willing to join this effort by KEEPING their current form of protection. gov=exempt

and THAT would have been the thing to go for -as you stated and I agreed with - but providing quality affordable health care is not what this admin is after. The point is to get everyone afraid, to declare a crisis, to pass complicated, legislation that will cut service and drive up costs so the government can remake the system to their liking and to control you and every generation in the future. The GOAL is to bankrupt the country.
FEHBP is a good plan but the bills being passed will be far inferior to it. Hence the refusal of congress to join the party….

bruce, letting uninsured buy into public option of plan for federal employees is where this bill started. I keep saying, it was simple solution, no new bureaucracy, etc. The House passed it. The Senate took it out to try to get 60 votes. So, bruce, it was the GOP that killed the simple solution of letting folks buy into federal employee plan. They said “what’s good enough for me is too good for regular folk.” They screamed government takeover of healthcare and pretended it wasn’t the very same plan they now enjoy, which consists of private plans negotiated by Govt.
So your last statement is backward. FEHBP is a good plan that the GOP/some bluedog Democrats won’t let the regular folks buy. And the Reps are still refusing to join the party even after they won the battle.

Howie, many current providers will not take Tricare. Our group had to request to keep them from being dropped! We are one of the only specialty group in the state to accept them. BCS and fennec are right about the blocked options by the way.

what I meant was (and what I thought I said) that the piece of junk on the table NOW not what was first proposed is what our reps don’t want to join. As you point out, their current plan (one that would have been good for all) is not an option for the “common” person. So if their current coverage isn’t “right” for the rest of us, shouldn’t they want to change over to what is good for all americans?
No, that won’t do for the aristocratic, the noble, the beautiful people that our governmental “leaders” see themselves as. After all, as the “elite” are they not entitled to better treatment than the great unwashed?
Their “plans” are specifically designed to store gold in the coffers of government. Money “stolen” from the labor of ordinary people that are now struggling to manage their day to day existance. And only those in office have the ability and right to “dole” out those funds and only to those that are obedient to Ceasar.

I got one that’s ok sorta and one that isn’t in the senate. The sorta ok one is a crist appointee and is just doing as told. My house rep and I agree about 75%of the time. They all play the same game, it’s required if you want to be in the game. They all feel as though they are “better” than your average jane or joe. Smarter. better able to decide what is good for the people. They are elected and sent to washington to espose what the people want not what they think is best for the people.

Don’t worry, Libs; that guy on C-SPAN will still talk to you after the landslide Republican win in the 2010 elections.
