   I once belonged to the AARP. I responded to everyone of their various insurance offerings.

   Everyone of the came back with a premium higher than what I was paying. I did not renew and I trash all mailings from them before I leave the Post Office.

    I have a great Health Care Plan, so here is my experence.

    When I signed up I didn’t really get to choose my doctor, I was given a list of doctors that my plan approved and I could choose one them – except I found that they really chose me. Most of the doctors on the list weren’t taking any new patients, and two said that they were dropping all of their patients covered by health plan.

    The doctor that accepted me belongs to a Medical Group, and before she can have me take any tests, get any treatment, or medicine it has to be approved by some office in the Medical Group. If they don’t approve it I can pay for it myself, or appeal to the same office that just disapproved it.

    After the treatment the Medical Group sends a bill to my Health Care Plan, if they don’t approve payment then the Medical Group can say I have to pay the bill. If this happens I can appeal to my Health Care Plan and/or the Medical Group, but if they don’t approve my appeal then I pay.

    If what is needed is serious, like a transplant, or radical treatment, then I guess these approval/appeal offices could be considered “death panels!”

    You have asked a few times if I served. The answer is yes.
    For a matter of fact. I done extremely well in the military. I went through boot camp and my specialist school. I was an E-1 when I reported to the ship and made E-5 at my three year mark. Clinton done all the cut backs and I had to stay an extra year in the Navy.
    I was offered $30K to reenlist, Antisubmarine air controller school (ASAC this would of meant an higher reenlistment amount plus additional sea pay) or go to college for 4 years with full pay as an E-5. College would have been paid for and I would have been an officer after college.
