   @ Anandy - given the “predictions” (more like threats) private insurers gave about how their prices would increse in the next few years, the public option might cost quite a few bucks less.

   Some of your cartoons are good. This one stinks in its characterization of Obama and for assuming health costs can be controlled without a public option. By now, you should have figured out that deregulation only works where this are competing firms. What we have is deregulated oligopoly and in many parts of the US territorial monopolies.

   Interesting that someone trying to do FOR the public is chastised by all the right wing “hypoChristians”, who do unto others, before it can be done to them.

    Maybe Congress should still draft collecting the new taxes on this new plan starting right away, and push the actual plan’s implementation back even further to 2016 (instead of 2013). That will make the plan look even less expensive in the ten year outlook.

    We don’t need health care reform right away, I guess, as Democrats have been pushing. This will also pay for all the reckless spending since the bailouts and help Obama’s legacy as far as what kind of defecit he leaves behind.
