The poor little right wing with their tiny little radio stations and that little bitty tv station fox news, can barely be heard over those BIG BAD DEMOCRATS.

So, if that one guy is the press, who are the other guys? An angry mob? Elephant enthusiasts?

    Elephant erotica enthusiasts?

^ Pachidermophiles. They love mud baths but also slinging mud, and spraying spittle on each other and especially others. As a herd (for individualists, they are surprisingly communitarian.) they can devastate entire town-hall meetings.
    Mock charges are a favourite.

Lisa, as always, is right on the money with this ‘toon.

Even though the Mesiah has the biased press and a bigger megaphone, no one is listening.

Best, most factual editoral cartoon i’ve seen in ages.

God, it’s wonderful on those rare occasions when some cartoonist actually gets it RIGHT… ;)

When Rush speaks, the Right listens…wonder how many have their concealed weapon(s)… The gun lobbyists should love President O, he’s sold more guns than the NRA machine…lol

The cartoon beautifully illustrates a growing problem for the ObamaCare advocates. People listen, don’t believe and reject the plans. The left has had the 15 years since Clinton and the 50 years since FDR/Truman to get the details right and they can’t. Draw your own conclusions.

How much time has the Repubs had? Have they introduced anything at all that doesn’t deny care due to pre-existing conditions? So far, the righties have only denigrated…not very hard to put down something you didn’t think up yourself

Yes they have Jam–that is why Obama has ignored them since April.

Where is it?? Why isn’t the minority leader pasting it on every talk show/news wire??? Maybe that’s why they wanted to “kill this bill and start from scratch”?

Thank you, Lisa. You made my day.

My only objection is calling them “Press”. Lap dogs of the state don’t deserve the term reserved for the watchdog of the people. “Media” is good enough for them.

GNC, HAVE YOU HEARD OF MEDICAID, MEDICAL, AND MEDICARE ? And their many State programs. Republicans had as many years to FIX the Insurance companies but have preferred to take their money !

WBR, ON which show ? And when did you see this ? I watch it 3 times every night. I’ve never seen it, they dont do a fox show.

The press doesn’T obey to Obama, they obey to ratings and Obama boosts the ratings.

Found an old clipping in my mom’s cedar chest. Same old whining from the Republicans in the “teabagger movement”, same “selling us out to the communists” rhetoric- same xenophobia, it was a Republican advertisement posted in the paper—- in November, 1936!!!!

70,000 people at a protest in Washington. 70,000,000 people voted for Obama. As long as the GOP keeps dreaming that they are the majority, the will remain asleep. The teabaggers have a lot of work to do; the biggest protest the could muster would not make the top 10 in protests against Bush, and for all the whining they do about the media, coverage of the teabaggers greatly exceeded the coverage anti-war protests got over the past 8 years, despite the numbers.

^140,000,000 Americans did not vote for Obama.

  21. believecommonsense

    believecommonsenseGenius_badge said, 2 months ago

charlie555, and of that number, less than half —59,934,814 –– voted for McCain

  22. charlie555

    bcs

Okay. 60 million Americans who voted for McCain did not vote for Obama, and 80 million other Americans did not vote for Obama.

    Is that better?

  23. believecommonsense

    believecommonsenseGenius_badge said, 2 months ago

charlie, 70 million Americans who voted for Obama did not vote for MCain; that would leave, using your figures, 80 million Americans who did not vote.

Is it better? don’t know, just more factual in context

  24. charlie555

    charlie555 said, 2 months ago

^ I don’t know what makes it “more factual”. The fact remains that less than 33% of Americans gave Obama any sort of mandate. 66% did not.

It doesn’t matter who voted for McCain.

Mama Trout - That newspaper clipping would be wonderful to see. The start of FDR and welfare, an entirely new concept that sounded good in theory, but sounded much like the end of self dependance. Communism as an actual practice was first-generation then, and I would think considered a viable threat as to a violent overthrow of a national government. The difference now is that it refers to an economic philosophy, not a potential violent overthrow. It is hard to imagine how such extreme philosophies did unite briefly to defeat the common enemy of Germany. I have a copy of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette from Dec 8, 1941 that my mother saved for me that I pull out occationally. Despite what you say, life was tremendously different then.

LOCO: Actually the roots of communism in the U.S. goes back to at least 1876, including all the trappings of conventions, membership drives, etc.

  28. believecommonsense

    believecommonsenseGenius_badge said, 2 months ago

    charlie555,

Bush in 2000 won 47.9% of voters (less than Gore’s 48.4%)
Bush in 2004 won 50.7% of voters
Obama in 2008 won 52.9 % of voters

so whatever mandate you think Obama doesn’t have, Bush had even less, and it sure didn’t slow him down trying to enact his version of giving to the wealthy and corporate America.
