   For sure, the Repubs are in the dark, especially if they’re looking to Rush Slimeball for leadership. Calling them dysfunctional is being kind. Sarah was always a flash in the pan.

   dwyant, Sarah received harsh treatment, but she made it easy. She messed up her interviews and debate completely. Even though she apparently did good work in Alaska, she did not make a good impression on the national stage. (Worse yet, during her campaign, she alienated the people she depended on in Alaska to get all that good work done). It was assumed from the get-go that she would receive harsh treatment from her opponents – do you think others didn’t treat Obama harshly? Remember the birth certificate idiocy? Remember the swift boating of Kerry? It’s called politics. And to be honest, I don’t think she was treated nearly as harshly as Hillary Clinton.

   If she was poorly served by anyone, it wasn’t the media or the Democrats. It was her own party who grabbed her out of nowhere and failed to properly prepare her before throwing her to wolves. Where Obama kept his cool, she faltered. If Obama had responded to the slings and arrows as she did, he would not be president.

   I have no idea what she’s going to do now – maybe study the national and international scenes. But abandoning your post is a rather odd strategy for plotting a run for national office. Who knows, maybe she really is going to just devote herself to her family.

   Yes I remember. Obama never produced his real birth certificate. (Consider that John McCain did. Why would John McCain go out of the way to bring up the issue of his own birth outside of the contiguous United States, if the GOP did not know there is something creepy about Obama’s background? Furthermore it had up to that time never been considered relevant to the process of election - very risky to be the first person to do it). And John Kerry never answered why he would throw his medals away, yet try to campaign as an experienced pro-Military man; nor, did he answer allegations of the attending physicians/authorities refusing to mark him for Purple Heart status. No, cdward and others, I won’t let you change neither accepted-Lib history nor apochryphal.

    Hillary was treated poorly by the Obama machine and the mainstream media, but not to the extent that Palin was treated poorly. She was not ridiculed as stupid or unaccomplished, and Chelsea was never brutalized like Palin’s children were. Obama was cool under pressure? He never got any pressure other than from Fox News or talk radio, and he has lost his cool with them through the process and up to the present. As far as the birth certificate issue goes, it never got any traction in the state run media (other than brief reports stating that the Repubs are again trying to use something as pesky as this great nation’s laws or constitution to talk poorly of the “one”.
