Each match is a billion $ of our tax money!

We’re already seeing stimulus money applied to public works projects where I live, providing contractors jobs-improving roads and access, so that’s a problem? Giving more to contractor’s in Iraq is money well spent? Right.

Trout, I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. My company was the #1 supplier of fasteners in the wind power segment (GE, Vestas, Solar, Gamesa, etc.).
I was let go for lack of work. Where’s the green jobs money?
Fixing a few potholes is not worth 700 billion. Give it a rest. The “stimulus” was a joke.

C’mon trout–be serious; nothing worthwhile has been accomplished–jobs or improvements

wrong reality, that rocket went up long ago, made a nice flash, and is now a memory….

Take piles of money and hand it to the government and what do you get? I don’t know, and neither does anyone else. It’s been reported that much of the “Stimulus Money” just basically disappeared. We have a centuries old example across the world of how large governments deal with things- inefficiency, waste, lack of any responsibility on the part of all those bureaucrat drones…
We are now in so much debt with China that we’ll never be able to be free of it, and yet after 6 months I don’t see any real change. In fact unemployment continues to rise around the nation. And that’s after the STIMULUS! Maybe Nanny State solutions aren’t really any kind of solution at all. Maybe the government isn’t the answer to problems, but is, in fact, the source of many of our problems. And now, our lord Obamessiah has made sure government has gotten a tighter grip on all our lives and you can be sure he and his allies in Congress will make sure they only tighten the grip, choking the life out of our freedom!

I know I know what we get, right joe we saved or created 1500 jobs so far.. woo hoo. billions spent. those must be some special magical green jobs that will save us all!
I still want to know what bleeep they pull “save or create out of” to explain away the failure?

Uh, if “rigid” governments are so inefficient, and “free market” is so super-efficient, how come we DO owe so much money to China? I don’t like their government either, but don’t care for corporation’s laws, or them writing them either.
Gladius said, 4 months ago
Because a “free market” has never existed. I am not talking about lassez faire capitalism. A true free market needs a certain amount of regulation to prevent successful capitalists from stilfling the competition. The most visible current example of this is microsoft…No I’m not an applemaniac.
Markets are currently restricted by a maze of regulations, tariffs and subsidies. They aren’t and never have been free.
On a specific note,as a nation, we spend too much. How many people do you know that have balances on their credit cards? My only running debt is a house mortgage. Which is in good shape, thank you.

Actually, under Obambus’ plan the children should be tied to the rocket.
