Great cartoon! To heck with the facts, full speed ahead – the House shows you what a blind dog in a “meat house” does!

Full speed ahead in four directions is Baroke’s Administration.

But but we are saving the Earth by regulating CO2 that makes up like .038 of air and we Humans are responsible for like .04 of that. But come on your money is need to stoke the engine fires!
Full speed we have to feel good that we are doing something!
Gladius said, 4 months ago
If I change your drinking water by .04% bay adding any number of substances we will no longer be reading your posts. If you work out the .04 of .038 it still holds true for several substances.

As global climate change continues, there won’t be any iceberg to hit. It just goes to show you that, even if CO2 is a relatively small component of air, small changes have big effects.

Nitrogen is like 78% of the atmosphere. NOx is poison. An amazingly small change in composition of some chemicals, like cyanide in your drinking water, can have pretty large impact. Whacked out “facts” taken out of context and perspective are NOT “proofs” for an irrational argument.

If Ms. Benson has any common sense, I’ve yet to see it displayed in her work. Her ignorance of science and economics, however, is profound, even as her ability to illustrate RNC talking points impresses.
The pity is that Benson and her fellow travelers won’t live long enough to fully appreciate the consequences to humanity of failing to act. Understand: we are not “destroying the planet.” We are destroying our habitat on this planet. We are destroying the planet’s ability to support us.
We risk the end of technological society, and the extinction of more than 50% of the species which currently exist because we are destroying their habitat. And all so we don’t have to suffer a little economic pain in the short term.

I’ve yet to read a report from a “Global Climatologist” saying that global warming exists. Just editorial cartoonists, scientisits in irrelevant fields, and the Lib posters here…

I guess we will have to use Styrofoam like they did in Al gores sci fi horror flick?

DrCanuck: Scientists publish their findings in peer-reviewed journals, not on entertainment-based websites like this one. Go to a library. That’s a big building with books….oh, never mind.

durrell’s point is THE point. We are destroying our habitat. That is not to say that life on earth will cease to exist, but that our societies or species may well cease to exist in the relatively short term. Think about just how long our societies could last in the event of major disruption of food delivery, for example. Most of us haven’t a clue on how to feed ourselves.
Also, most of us working in biology today (~70%) consider that the evidence indicates that we are in the midst of a major extinction event (for probably the last ~50000 yrs or so which is short term in the natural world).

Lisa, I can count on everything you say to be wrong, so I really appreciate today’s cartoon. Enough of the Neo-Con line already!

Ms Benson must be among that 26% that think W did a heckuva job…and maybe that 19% that think the sun goes round the earth. Her heavy handed style seems to be quite devoid of real insight or wit; much like the current Republican party, I think. Of all the cartoonists in this group she can be counted on to be consistantly bad.

“Pass legislation that requires anything sold in the USA be manufactured at or better than the standards US manufactures have to meet.Including any so called pollution standards and worker comp standards. Then make US standards the toughest on the planet”
And watch as the little jobs we have left go bye bye and hit the ice burg! good plan?
Just what we need more taxes so the carbon foot print people can feel better.
Fennec I have to only agree with you on one point that you almost made. Some one once told me ” The father man is away from his food source the more uncivilized he becomes. ” But other then that one of my bones to pick is that this phony CO2 the sky is falling is taking money and resource from programs that really do make a difference in how we care for our planet! So I feel extra ticked off from all these doom and gloom we have to act now about the weather people. Like you can only they by charging farmers for cow farts can change the world. please.

Actually, it ticks me off that we have to deal with China and other human-rights abusers so much….And I posted about six-months ago about how limiting resource exploitation in America (restricting coal-energy plants and nuclear plants for example) push the exploitation into areas like India, China, Africa, S. America, etc. where the populace and leadership is woefully un-prepared to handle the destructive effects of their industrial growth. Besides that these regions have nature systems (I’m not using the term “ecology”) that are just as important or more important than ours but are more vulnerable due to the relative “backwardness” of their citizenry and policies. IMHO.
DrCanuck said, 4 months ago
NoFearPup, I’m with you entirely on that comment. I, too, am ticked off that Canada has to deal with that human-rights abuser, the USA, proponent of the death penalty, kidnapper and torturer of innocent foreigners in their own countries, abuser of women’s rights to their own reproductive systems, and denier of simple healthcare rights to its citizens. Still, we all have to live with the barbarians in the world, don’t we?

Slave labor and dumping poison into the river is just fine by them as long as the poison is not in their backyard and the wage slaves live far enough away.
that is what happenes when you reclcle your computer. You feel good then it goes over seas and get taken apart in the worse possible manner.
If anything sold in the USA has to be manufactured at or better than USA standards then at least every thing sold in the largest market on the planet would have to be made at or better than our pollution and labor standards.
We already do!!! So what is your beef? We have the highest standers in the world! we use the most energy but we use it in more effenent ways then any other Nation. Why not becuase it feels good but becuase in order to make a buck you have to save a buck. Those that cut corners on qualitry pay for it down the line and we used to have the highest quality and standers on the planet!
But no we have to make up a boggy man in CO2 that is apart of how the world goes around to feel good!

Excellent HQ, (That would be “boogie-, bogey- man” I think) Dr.Canuck - your point was sort of my point. Forcing ill-thought out policies with unknown ramifications on our industries and citizens doesn’t even help you wackos in the long run was my point…paper bags save more trees in the long run with less pollution, ethanol disrupts food prices and supplies - and I believe you have to burn three times as much ethanol as gasoline, etc. Your perfect utopian ideal can’t exist with your efforts; but, you Libs can definitely make things worse. Also, I’m glad you bashed the USA, now I know where you’re coming from…
