don’t know if this is so accurate … if you think back to past decades (which this toon is representing) there were times/eras of action, indeed successful accomplishments …. whether or not you cared for LBJ, the civil rights act, the voting rights act were both enacted into law under his leadership, Nixon thawed relations with China, the cold war ended under Reagan, women made significant legal equal rights gains in the ’80s…. so question is, when did we really STOP acting and accomplishing anything

Under Boy George, it was “they’re coming to kill you and everybody you know” especially during election time.

That was a scary speech yesterday, it seemed to me the “Chosen one” was throwing a fit because legislators are questioning and debating the value of his “BILL” (stimulus in this case), precisely the job they were elected to do, and given the fact this is the Largest and most costly BILL ever, a very prudent thing to do in my view..
I think the ‘true colors’ are beginning to creep out, and I smell trouble ahead…
For the first time , we got a glimpse of his real personality, and it’s scary…

Mach, and Uncle Dick’s tantrums didn’t worry you?

If you look at the last few election cycles, all the democrats did was use the politics of fear. If republicans win:
old people will lose their pensions and be forced to eat dog food, children will starve, black churches will burn, etc., etc., ad nauseum.

BOB_E, What planet did you migrate from? I thought Karl Rove’s name was known far and wide.

Talk about fear mongering, I just got nausea from Bob_E’s ‘ad nauseum’.

Sadly, the joke here is all that talk of action and urgency directed at abunch of cathode ray addicts nodding in front of their fix. (That would be us.)

BobE, the only times I’ve heard those things said was when a Republican was accusing Democrats of having said them. Personally, I’ve never heard any Democrat say such things. Well, not since the first time I voted for Reagan anyway. :)
Quite aside from that, I have my issues with the Bill, most of them with Pelosi’s House Dems. But then I also have issues with the Republicans who got us into this mess in the first place.

Olfart is quite right. If American voters had been paying attention post 9/11 instead of watching TV and trusting the government (didn’t Reagan warn us about that?), we wouldn’t be in this mess.

Been outa town a couple of days…happy to see all the people entering the fray! I may disagree with some, agree with others, but it’s good to see the action. Now get on the stick and write your congresspeople!!

Machado
Very true. The true colors of Dem party and as one other person said B. Hussein (FYI slight different spelling from the dictator tyrant who is dead) are becoming clearer and clearer.

tiny - which colors are becoming “clearer”, all seems kinda vague the way you put it.

We don’t want the evidence of Iraqi WMD to come in the form of a mushroom cloud.
Nah, that’s not politics of fear at all. Pfffft!
