   Where are these 68 million acres? Are they not drilling there because they don’t want to, or because there isn’t any oil there? And what do we run our cars on while the alternatives are being developed? And how do we replace all of the other things we use that are petroleum based (plastics, etc.)? And what are we going to use to power our jets?

   Sitting around waiting for alternative energy like the dimocRATS are doing is going to further destroy our economy.

   I know, let’s use our food supply to develop an inefficient fuel so we can kill two birds with one stone- increase fuel costs and food prices all while decreasing the mileage we get. Or we can use wind power to get electricity, never mind that we don’t have the batteries that will hold a charge long enough, or that there is nowhere near the infrastructure to get the power where it is needed, or that there are no places to recharge an electric vehicle if we wanted to. But why let that stop us from just giving on oil altogether?

   The Republicans are the ones who have proprosed the American Energy Act which clearly states an “all of the above strategy”

   That is obviously the most efficent way to deal with this energy problem.

   I admit partisan politics are slowing down the process. Maybe republicans didn’t proposed the bill when they had control of the house because they wanted to be able to blame the democrats for it.

   We’ll never know.

   CF: BTW, the internal combustion engine was invented by Gottlieb Daimler and perfectioned by Karl Benz. henry Ford invented the assembly line.

   The gas prices wasn’t a problem when the Republicans controlled the Congress.
