Oh, I don’t know. I’m kind of a mutant, and I notice a distinct bias towards non-mutant humans vs our facially-challenged counterparts. I try not to express it, but it’s definitely there.

Threshold for mutation is 1000 to 1100 rads. Bad scifi to the contrary, it only takes about 450 to kill a human. Just happens to be the amount at 1 mile from the detonation of a 1mt device that a person would take in that instant of gammas and X-rays. However, since 98+% of the energy released from an nuke is heat, no one that close is going to worry about getting gammas and x-rays. 2 million degrees can really ruin your day…

100,000, 120,000 to kill a bacterium. Great news, eh? Bacteria can mutate all they want…

It’s never as easy as the instructions say.

Not your best work, Lio; but, luckily, some tenants aren’t too choosey. Birds of a feather… kind of thing.

The late, great Don Martin once drew a similar cartoon involving a broken bird CALL

Now I know where that phrase, “He’s an odd bird” comes from.

Ah, yes, the do-it-yourself bluebird of happiness from IKEA.

Mutation is not necessarily caused by radiation. Genes can be damaged, yet produce a viable, and sometimes more fitting life form.

I’m thinking more of a doo bird.
