    I used to dread when my local paper planned changes in the comics, but not anymore. Thanks to GoComics, and Comics Kingdom I can read strips my paper dumped.

    Mobsters muscling in on Lio’s territory? I don’t think they’d want to meet Cybil, Frank, and Ishy….

    Word balloons. Not something you see often in Lio.

    Is that Momma? Hey, I’d donate to get rid of that evil hag.

    @Jorah

    Silly Jorah! The word balloon is not in Lio, it’s in Mrs. Ivana Laff.

    Sigh. In the old days, the newspapers took pride in their comic section, especially the Sunday edition, which the LA Times now hides among the advertising sections. Thanks to gocomics, I get a good start to my mornings.

    I grew up near Providence, RI, when the Patriarca family was still in power. I remember being told not to stare at the limousines on the side of the road in Federal Hill.

    Gocomics is by far the best.
    I also read the editorials at the AAEC, Daryl Cagle’s blog, and about 6 comics at AZ Central.

    One area they don’t seem to think is important are the comics. Imagine if they concentrated on that? Offer a whole section just of comics. Now that would get me to part with more money.

    Our esteemed pinko commie rag, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch used to conduct a vote to decide who came and went.
    This last change was doe with no vote. I suspect that the more expensive strips were cut for financial reasons. Gone were Frazz, 9 Chickweed, and Get Fuzzy. They never ran Lio that I recall.

    My local paper dumped half of the comics two years ago. So I dumped my local paper. Haven’t missed it either.

    The StL P-D did run Lio once… but only for a couple of weeks before it was dropped. They tend to drop all my favorite comics… which is one of the reasons why, last year, I discontinued delivery.
