    Unfortunately, love can be stupid like that. The girl I loved in high school had a mean streak. I ignored the antisocial nonsense because I was crazy about her. For time, anyway. When she got into drugs, she eventually was like a different person. A stream of victims after that, from her kids with drug-defects to STD spreading.

    I remember childhood, jr high through high school, as one giant bowl of unrequited love. And the more I was rejected, the more I wanted whoever she was. Eva hates Lio so much, she often tries to kill him, which just makes Lio fall that much deeper.
