I once had to work on a computer game licensed from Dr. Seuss. He was a royal pain in the a$$. Maybe his stuff was good, but nobody who ever had to work with him liked him.

I’m sorry to read that. I’ve really enjoyed his books.

… was he just being picky?

@Bailey
No, he wasn’t just being picky. He seldom worked with others, so he didn’t know how to tell people how to get the results he wanted. He’d send back a sketch with instructions like, “Give it more ridiculosity!”, but never explain just what he wanted to see. When he was questioned, he came back with language that was never seen in any of his children’s books.

@runar
My father owned a camera shop in La Jolla, California and Mr. Geisel was a regular customer in the 70s and 80s.
I always found him to be a very pleasant old gentleman.

Some people know what they want but it exists only as an image in the mind and they find it difficult to explain to others what they envisage. That’s no excuse for bad manners, however.
.
I could never work with my father as he would always assume I knew what he was intending (I didn’t) and it would always end with him telling me to “%£**^@ off”.
.
I’m a bit like that but not so bad. I do work better by myself but if I have to I can endure “teamwork”.

Nah … time to chuck the ham away – especially if it’s green AND furry !!

The book I remember they colored not just the egg yolk green but the ham too.
