I like the 1953 one better.

I doubt the alien is any match for the librarian….
Sisyphos said, 9 months ago
Will the Aliens come down with some insidious Earth-library infection and die off before the librarian even suspects anything is amiss?
Lio! Control your imagination!

That’s actually the spoken intro to the ’53 movie (far better than the T. Cruise remake), but it is similar to the opening lines in the book. Check out the early movie version, more-than decent special effects, good script, quite scary in places.

The H.G.Wells original book is light years better than any of the films.

The librarian looks suspiciously like Mrs Olsen’s sister, right down to the glasses…you all DO follow Frazz, right??

@Basqueian
It reminds me of ‘Terra: Extremitas’ by Foolish People. In it fiction comes alive and causes the end of the world…

Wells begins with a ‘W’, why are they coming out of aisle A-F ?

I think someone’s going to start playing “Indian Love Call” by Nelson Eddy. That’ll take care of any Martians.

What begins with a ‘W’, what difference does it make?
