Wasn’t there an actor named Martin Balsam?

Never much liked Martin Balsam’s acting. But he does have a real claim to fame. His daughter Talia is the only woman to have married George Clooney.

A balsam named Marty! Or, a Balsam named Marty? What hath Lio wrought?
I’m assuming it’s the tree, given a decent burial, as befits a Christmas tree that has given its life for the joy of an odd family!

Lotsa needles still on that thing.
One year my brother and got a permit and drove over to the Willamette NF to get a tree. A little Doug fir was perfect. Took it, roots and all, so it wouldn’t dry out. Ended up planting it when we were done, it had survived so well. Unfortunately our winters on this side of the Cascades were just a tad cooler than it was used to.

From Wikipedia:
Martin Henry Balsam (November 4, 1919 – February 13, 1996) was an American actor.
He is known for his Oscar-winning role as “Arnold Burns” in A Thousand Clowns and his role as “Detective Milton Arbogast” in Psycho.
