Somewhere Mr George Wilson & Ms Margaret Wade is jumping for joy & celebrating after the arrest of Dennis “The Meance” Mitchell!
Sisyphos said, about 1 month ago
It has to have been that Mitchell kid!
(Of course, there is the matter of Lio’s fingerprints on the slingshot, if it ever comes to that….)

And he was trying to get cookies by breaking the window? I thought Lio was smart…
IncredibleWerekitty said, about 1 month ago
Actually it looks like it was an accident, rather than actual intent.
Gweedo Murray said, about 1 month ago
The fact that the sling shooter is by a window with “cookies” makes it an open and slammed shut cookie jar for the Mitchell kid.

I doubt that Mr George Wilson would bail Dennis Mitchell out of that mess Ladyfingers86! He’ll probably tell the police to keep him locked up in juvie jail & THROW AWAY THE KEY!!!

Lio is a menace, in his own way.
Whereas Dennis is merely annoying, Lio can be dangerous

That’s what Dennis gets for keeping his slingshot, unused, in his back pocket. It falls out too easily.

Poor Dennis is saying, “It wasn’t me!”

We have entered a new era…cartoon profiling. Dang, can a sketch catch a break!?!?!?!
steelbladeoffury said, about 1 month ago
I knew that this would have to happen sooner or later.
I wonder what would happen if you stick Lio, Calvin, and Dennis together in the same room and locked the door.
Which one of them would survive?
mancocapac said, about 1 month ago
It’s about time DtM was taken away. Now if only newspapers would follow suit and make room for new comics.
scbaguru said, about 1 month ago
I wonder if Dennis’s one phone call will be to Mr. Wilson..
SherlockWatson said, about 1 month ago
I can just see Mr. Wilson leading the neighbors in a conga line, with everyone chanting “No more Dennis Mit-chell! No more Dennis Mit-chell!”
Burgundy2 said, about 1 month ago
I think there’s almost 2 crossovers here. The third frame (line from eye to slingshot) is reminiscent of Nancy.
Tom said, about 1 month ago
I’m glad Mark drew the ’50s Dennis. I doubt the Dennis of today would have a slingshot or know what to do with it.

Not so sure about the rest of us.

To be fair a slingshot doesn’t fit Lio. Now if they found a portable particle accelerator on the sidewalk, sure, book’em Danno!

Tom, don’t be so sure. It could have been Bart, and not Dennis. Simpson knows his way around a slingshot. But then Tatulli would have been dealing with a whole other set of lawyers. The 50’s Dennis is way cooler than Bart Simpson would have been though.
That third panel has an almost Mad Magazine quality to it, with the lines drawing attention to the implement of destruction.
Dennis needs that ‘not me’ ghost from Family Circus to get him out of this one.
