Is Lio going to walk all the way to the Vet’s?

Cybil is dangerous! If she doesn’t want to go by “pet taxi,” Lio had better have a powerful “Plan B”!

I notice that Lio’s father Dad left this job for him to handle.
Sometimes, dear ol’ Dad’s not as clueless as he looks
Bender_Sastre said, 3 months ago
Prolly be more subtle to break into dad’s stash of Jack Daniels and get the cat drunk first, take away her keys and then have her “take a taxi”.

will this be a storyline?

I feel sorry for the vet if Lio ever gets Cybil there.

Lio’s lucky he didn’t end up locked in the cage.

Add some dialogue and this would be a Garfield strip.

I learnt a trick once for getting the cat into the “pet taxi” – pick her up and put her in butt first instead of head first. That way, by the time she realizes she’s going in, she’s already mostly in. Slam the door, quick!

We tricked a cat of ours (who wasn’t tame) into getting in the pet taxi by holding it over the cat door. (On the outside) My hubby held the crate, my sons & I “herded” the cat inside the garage (with all the doors - except the cat door - closed). The cat thought she was making her escape, but landed in the pet taxi instead.

Recently read of a cat who had a warning sticker and human blood stains on her vet folder– sounds like Cybil. I’ve had cats turn into whirling razor blades when you try to get them into the carrier… but they love to get in it at the vet’s so they can come home!

When I took my cat Boots in to be fixed I tricked him into getting in the carrier by himself.
Put a treat inside and closed the door.
He spent 15 minutes trying to get in.
When it was time to go, I let him in.

A treat inside the taxi would be tuna if I ever have to do this.

I see some excellent ideas here in the comments. Personally my first thought was a pair of welder’s gloves.
iamtxmilady said, 3 months ago
Lio, I thought you were smarter than that. Like she was ever going to do this.

Doctortoon, your solution was inspired. I wonder if it worked twice, though! ;)

Our cat doesn’t scream a lot on her way to the vet - as it’s located 2 minutes walk from our house. When she’s done we just open the door and she can run home herself. Pretty nice - and she normally doesn’t sulk more than half an hour or so… :รพ

I still beat the scars from our last excursion to the vet’s office…That’s not so bad, however. Our late, beloved Siamese, Beau, had to have an Elizabethan collar and a heavy towel wrap once a month to have his claws trimmed, and I still wound up bleeding most months. He was a sweetheart the rest of the time, but well and truly convinced that I was out to murder him with the claw clippers!
Some folks supposedly have crate-trained cats, the way people do with their dogs. I have yet to meet one…
