Aww! Squishy, and that other thing, and Dad, and the boa [does he have a name?].
A quiet evening at home in front of the TV….

The boa is Frank, the lobster is Mittens, the squid is Ishmael … and it’s scary that I know this.

I’d watch WKTN.
Re. Pearls: I’m sure glad Mark draws our Lio … but it was a funny crossover.

Maybe the Pearls appearance will signal to some papers that they’re missing out by not carrying Lio…

This is a comic strip. It answers to it’s own rules, meaning I use what I like. LIO also still uses a rotary telephone. And it’s been three years, and LIO hasn’t aged a bit…and never will. So it is very likely that Dad’s TV will always be an old-style walnut case Emerson with antenea reception because that’s the way I like it.

Mark - I love Lio just the way it is.
Don’t change anything unless you can possibly figure out how to make things weirder.

Same here! By the way, how do I subscribe to WKTV????

This is why I always liked “The Addams Family” more than “The Munsters”; the latter was just another ’60s sitcom with a gimmick, while the former had a strong, loving family that just happened to march to its own beat.
Da-da-da-dum (snap, snap)…

Yeah, Lio will age. He’ll be a crafty old dude in 2100. Rayannina, it’s good, not scary, you know the names of the household critters. And everybody - check out today’s Pearls Before Swine - funniest crossover yet!
I hope somebody publishes a collection of all the Lio crossovers. Lucy and Charlie visiting Lio - LOL and liberating. Lio with Omar in “Watch Your Head” - priceless. Oh yeah, one of the stupid Crocs from Pearls B4 Swine was a guest in Lio’s zoo once.
Burgundy2 said, 4 months ago
Thanks for the tip about Pearls before swine, Chikuku. it is hilarious.
In the collection of crossovers, don’t forget Lio and Ishmael as guests in Nonsequitur.
Mark - I think the old fashioned TV and telephone add to the atmosphere of the strip. One kind of expects that sort of think in Lio’s household.

I agree with Doc - it’s a gestalt kind of thing that loses if you keep trying to update it.

got your message at yesterday’s “Imagine This”.
He’s home but it doesn’t end for me. I’m still trying to get a schedule…all the nurses and therapists schlepping in and out and all the follow-up visits AND I still have to drive my daughter to work. He’ll be fine…this will all kill me, for sure. I’ve been stealing his Xanax!! ROFLOL!!!! Hey, whatever gets you through the night, is all right!
Thank you, Sweetness! MUAH!!!
I missed your BD, didn’t I? If I did, I really hope it was a great one. If I didn’t, I take it all back. (c:
