Lio found a way to get rid of the competition.

What would be interesting is if sometime Mark coordinated with the other cartoonist. Today’s Fred Bassett could be his owners picking up his collar and scratching their heads.

  17. Doctor Toon

Might not be Fred himself, could be one of his pals.

Cf. “Hands Across the Comics Page” week at Pearls Before Swine … where the burning question is not “where’s Fred?” but “when will Mary Worth come out of the closet???”

Must be the apatosaurus from the original King Kong (1933). That one was carnivorous.

Marmaduke, you’re next?! I wish Lio would have stopped by there first! Then his dino would be too full to eat good ol’ Fred.

  27. Chikuku

    ChikukuGenius_badge said, 4 months ago

This type of Dinosaur, by whatever name you call her or him, was always strictly herbivorous - a serious plant-eater. Therefore this episode of Lio must be rejected as fictional, apocryphal, imaginary, a dream, etc. Check Fred Basset tomorrow and you’ll find him alive and well.

  28. DirtyDragon

    DirtyDragon said, 4 months ago

Starting tomorrow, the part of Fred Basset will be played by Fred from “Smokey and the Bandit”.

This is a LIO dinosaur…he exists only on a steady diet of over-the-hill comic strip characters
