“World Is Waiting For The Sunrise”
Watch his left hand. They pioneered the technique of voice over recording where Mary is the chorus as well as the lead. Don’t ask me the particulars. It’s been a long time since I read the article and don’t feel like looking it up. It’s out there, somewhere.

You, my friend, are the funny one! I can’t help it, but I’m still giggling about the Santa Claus turd.

Gweedo Murray:
As I recall, “voice over” was originally done with two machines (two tracks) then mixed down.
Interestingly, the first two track mix down was done with wire recorders.
Later of course two-track recording was done on one tape. This, thanks to Les Paul. Quite ingenious he.

In the 1950’s I skipped class and went to see Les & Mary at the Times Square Paramont in NYC.
On stage with them was the Russ Case Orchestra.

There was a movie in the 60s called “Hold that Tiger.” It had a catchy tune, but I can’t recall who was in it. Jack Lemon? Not sure….

tigernest1 are you sure you don’t mean “Save the Tiger” with Jack Lemmon as Harry Stoner?

Yeah Hooray for tuba recognition! Only Lio could groove to the Heavy Metal Sounds of the Big Brass. Awesome!
