I wonder if hunters think Lio is funny.

The comic book artwork is amazing… grainy, yellowing edges, muted retro colors. Love it. The comic book’s storyline fits Lio’s gruesome tastes. Cutesy frolicking animals – without bloodthirsty Elmer FuddMan and death – wouldn’t appeal to Lio. Thumbs up!

thats funny

Its not the death and blood i am saying is horrible…its that its Kamikaze…If youve read some of the books or seen some of the films on it you’d say it wasnt so funny. Its just a bad topic for comics.

suicide bombs then, suicide bombs now - there’s nothing new under the sun. and Lio’s humor has always been dark, nippon. I agree with frog applause that the artwork makes it look like something that could have been around in the 40s, the appeal of a vintage comic.

I just adore that stuffed vampire bunny :-)

I see where you’re coming from, Nipponkid, but the racoon sacrificed himself, saved his pals and is suitably honored by them. I don’t think Mr. Tatulli is doing the concept of Kamikaze a disservice.

“Kamikaze Kritters” sounds like a comical alliteration, typical of comic book titles.

Bill Gordon, a well-known “kamikaze” historian, has a website that offers views from American and Japanese perspectives.

If we can all learn something valuable today, nipponkid, doesn’t that make it a “good” topic for the comics?

Thanks, Frogapplause - I had a look at the website - very interesting.

A couple of thoughts:
Funny!
It’s a comic, no critters were ever hurt.
It’s a COMIC, hate it or love it, but you just raise your own blood pressure if you get angry.
It’s a LIO comic - what did you expect?

I wonder if they’re related to Cartman’s Christmas Critters?
Still, the hunter survived but was forever bald. And thus was born Elmer Fudd.
Now, why is Mr. Racoon so happy?
I want a plush Vampire Bunny.

I love Lio, but I don’t like how they push their anti-hunting agenda down our throats. Good comic today, in spite of that…

Hilarious! But they left off the great first panel of Lio’s shadow as Nosferatau. Check your local paper. Meanwhile, this is a reality in Palestinian kiddy culture.

My name is Nipponkid. Nippon=Japan if none knows this. I read all that i can about this stuffand ive been to Okinawa while i was here with my classmates and if no one knows that place its the only area that the US ever invade on Japanese land. Ive seen all the war memorials and saw always the japanese people stare with hate at me when i went to them with my classmates.
I dont like people making fun of these sort of things. Even if japanese dont see this its still a bad representation of how we feel towards it. Alot of the 12 YEAR OLDS who were Kamakazi pilots were brainwashed.
People say its dark humor. NO it goes way out of bounds of anything related to humor.

Yo Nippondude, This comic is funny. Yeah, th humor is messed up, but the shock value is part of Lio’s appeal. I’m surprised it’s by the same guy who does Heart of the City. So you are not laughing. That doesn’t mean no one else is. Yes, WWII was bad, horrible. Kamikaze or suicide runs are bad. But we still make jokes of them. We even have jokes about the Vietnam war, despite all its controversy. Heck, we are even seeing some humor based from the Iraq War and 9/11. Is it in bad taste? Maybe. Can it still be funny? Probably. Will some people like it? Most likely.

Why does every comic I like have to ruin itself by having one PETA, anit-hunting comic. Leave personal and political views out of comics! Thats a good way to loose readers. I am a hunter so that means I’m evil and deserve to be killed, I guess.
