Another Lio trap. These monsters are getting very clever.

This looks like the setup at the opening of the cartoon “Hare Remover” (1946). Bugs: “An old-fashioned rabbit trap! Hmph! My grandfather told me about these, but I never thought I’d see one.”

This put me in mind of a Family Guy Episode where Brian and Peter use this trap to snare James Woods (OOOH, a piece of candy). This would work the other way round too, but Lio would have to use different bait.

Maybe this was already in a Lio cartoon:
Lio waiting with a trap set for a monster while the monster waits with a trap for Lio.

Poor set up, if the trip is pulled from behind chances are the trap will topple over backwards !

The trap setup isn.t the best, but it will work. The string pulls the stick from the bottom, and the box is at an angle from which it can’t counterbalance to fall backward. At worst, the stick will either be inside the box when it falls, or partway in and out. The real flaw is that the box isn’t heavy enough to keep Lio from lifting it up to escape. Oh, yes - there’s way too much slack in the string.

Gee I don’t know how I could have made it through the rest of the day without that explanation on how the trap works and how this particular one is flawed. It’s a comic strip!(panel for all you knowitalls)
