    I like that the catfish was ready, having tied the line to the log. But, if they know the snag is there, why fish there? Or is it such a good spot?

    Fish like to hang around what Fisherfolk call “structure”, such as a log. Some people sink old christmas trees in their ponds or off their docks to provide structure.
