“How’s that hopy-changey thing working for you?”
Where’s all that jobs creation you promised?

It will all be better when all the evil businesses close down and we all work for the government, like it was in the Soviet Union. I think that’s his message.

Classic misdirection there to derail the main topic of conversation: the Republicans’ obsession with defeating Obama to get back in power rather than really focusing on the problems at hand.

When all the businesses close down, it won’t be because of anything Obama did. It’ll be because there’s no more profit to be made, because they’ve taken everything we have.

The Republicans haven’t really said or done anything except that they want to prevent a second term for Obama. If the ones that have announced or are going to announce it will be tough for them to succeed.

Businesses will grow when there’s more demand from people who have good jobs, and if the private sector is stuck, the public must step in. But we can’t because that will get the label of “socialism” which is (for some reason) a dirty word.

To prevent a Obama’s second term is a sufficient goal.

In order for the private sector to work, business has to “produce” something that the public will “buy” and it must make more money than it cost to produce (a “gasp” profit). Public sector jobs do not “produce” a product but are “service” jobs as in “public service” and so they do not make a profit. Now we can all dream about jobs were you provide a service in the public sector funded by taxes that you take from people working public sector jobs BUT there ain’t no such thing as a perpetual motion machine and there never will be. If you think that the government can take over industry and run it efficiently, without corruption and with fair treatment for all you are truly an idiot. And this administration is totally about shutting down the US economy so that the rest of the poor world can have a turn at being “rich”. It’s their turn after all and well a politician will always be in “power”….just think about it.

The current GOP is like a monk with a can of gasoline and a match, but they’re willing to dowse the whole country, not themselves.

A real strawman if I ever saw one. No one is asking for the government to take over private industries.
You are.
No one is asking for more government jobs.
You are.
As it stands right now we are allowing individuals to run their companies without corruption and fair treatment with no rules to keep them in check. How’s that working out for us? They’re shipping the jobs overseas because labor is expensive in the U.S. They are allowed to speculate not just our money supply but also the commodities we use every day. Heck, they can crush the small business by setting up shop within a one mile radius (see Wal-Mart). We don’t prosecute white collar crime. We reward it. All the while a small segment of our population is getting ridiculously rich while the rest of us are collecting what’s left of our unemployment. The cons promised us jobs and to date there have been no jobs bills coming from the house. Wake up and smell the coffee! The cons are not your friends! This toon is right to the T!

Socialism is the next prgressive and logical step of society. The Cons want to keep us at the Capitolism step where capitalists are the ruling class, who create and employ the proletariat. Marx said that but for some reason the Cons don’t consider capitolism a dirty word, oh wait, it’s because they are selfish and don’t want to share.

I’ve worked for many charities and I find the conservatives are much more giving than liberals are. It is just that Liberals tend to showboat what they give and the Conservatives tend to quietly give. Capitalism is the best system…if you don’t want to work, you starve. If you are willing to work, you prosper. Socialism just sucks the life out of everyone. Socialists never offer their money, the just offer everyone Else’s money. If you like Socialism, move to North Korea!
