Now maybe in order to ever get another raise , the criminal element (legislature) will fix the mess they made by raising taxes and cutting waste. The voters spoke “no raise while there is a deficit. Wish that was in the Federal Constitution..

the commission that sets legislative and executive salaries just cut legislators’ pay 18 percent, which will take effect beginning of next term (but that gives them 18 mos to change it back, so maybe a bit of grandstanding if they don’t follow through)

Cut the legislative pay - Woopie. Meanwhile trainloads of money are going out the back door for illegals and no one has the guts to do anything about it.

Considering ‘legislators’ spend (at the Federal level) some 30% to 70% of their time just raising money for their next campaign to keep their jobs (AKA job security, a cruel hoax in other industries), CA is probably about the same.
If we don’t figure out a way to get them interviewed and hired without having to pander to wealth and industry to get the money to get the job, we’ll have (oh- we already do have!) the Best Legislature Money Can Buy.
Google [campaign finance reform] for some ideas, but a wider (and less costly) campaign has to be better.
