confederate flags have their uses. When you need a rag to clean something, or to get a fire going if you don’t have any old newspapers lying around…

‘confederate flag’ is a term that does not deserve capital letters either.

Ahhh……. obvious you haven’t really listened to the song. Had more faith in you than to have you do the knee jerk reaction that a lot of people are doing. Listen to the song without the chip on your shoulder.

Racists aren’t born, they are taught.

Displaying the confederate flag is a slap in the face to all African-Americans, just as nasty as displaying the Nazi flag is to Jews.

“Listen to the song without the chip on your shoulder.”

And you’ll still regret it as a waste of time. Most popular country music sounds like bad cover versions of Lynyrd Skynyrd.

The confederate batte flag is still the emblem of racists, and not just in the south. The Civil War may have been over 150 years ago, but overt oppression is still something in the memory of a lot of living African-Americans. Loving vs. Virginia was 1967.

I really don’t care what the song says or what the rationalization is. The confederate flag continues to represent the confederacy and what it stood for. If it didn’t, it would be pointless to wear it/wave it/hang it. Don’t wear it and then say, hey man, I didn’t know it would offend you. If you didn’t, you must have been in a bomb shelter for the past 60 years.
