TIs the treason to secede
folly folly folly folly folly

Secede is an option, but I would like to see a Constitutional Convention called. That seems to be our last best option. If that fails, then secede.

And sticking with Norquist isn’t treason. (Article III, Section 3).

Hey, I remember that one from 1968. Seems I remember the hard hats and right wingers chanting it then. Sauce for the goose now, maybe, for the chanters AND the chantees.

You might want to check your statement, since all states were allowed by law to start petitions to see if there was enough interest in their states to secede said petitions would be reviewed in D.C.

How unConstitutional of you. And considering that most of the crap the Reich Wingers say about Pres. Obama is the opposite of what he is. However I see him as just an interchangeable cog in the Plutocrats move to make us closer to their fascist ideas of govt/business.

I think you & others here are confused. There is no law or provision in the Constitution that allows a state to unilaterally secede. The only possible legal mechanism for secession would have to be a Constitutional Convention, with an Amendment ratified by 38 states.
The White House set up a site for online petitions of all kinds. They promised to respond to any petition that received 20,000 signatures. Note that “respond” only means the petition would receive some sort of official statement, not necessarily any change in policy or law.
Several states have posted petitions demanding secession, but the number of people supporting secession is a tiny, tiny segment of the population. In Texas, where secession seems most popular, the petition received support from 100,000 out of 8 million voters. That’s barely 1%. The secession talk is nothing more than sore losers throwing a tantrum.

“…Several states have posted petitions demanding secession…”
It isn’t really several states is it? Isn’t it certain people within those several states?
Not an act of a state itself.
