I still don’t see the big deal. Gay or not, the issue is the news not his orientation. I think too many people place too much emphasis on their sexual drive instead of their character.

Its never been a big deal until people wanted it to be a big deal. Did anyone care that James Buchanan was gay? No. So before you call our nation backward, you might want to consider that those who make their sexual orientation more important than their character, they are the ones truly getting it backward.
