Last night on the Food Network cable channel, they had a rerun of the Halloween version of “The Secret Life of …”
The host of the show went to a place that only served meatless dishes.
He told about how the Roman Catholic Church decided that Halloween would be a fast day like Mardi Gras where no meat was served.
There are “vegetarians” who do eat eggs and milk products.
Tacos can be made with a lot of different ingredients, including containing no meat.
But, “Día de los Muertos” is on November 2nd. Therefore, this celebration has no connection with Halloween day. It is really a pagan celebration event.

Halloween is also known as all hallows eve in remembrance of the dead, just like “El Dia De Los Muertos”.

What the Samhain Joe?

“Samhaim” was a word mentioned several times in the Food Network show. The word sounds like “saw-win.”
The Celts (letter “C” has a “K” sound) celebrated Samhaim on November 1 to a marking the beginning of winter.
I have Celt blood since I also have Irish and Scot ancestors.
