Missing in this dialog is any concern for individual rights.

As long as they’re not criminals or contagious, foreigners have a human right to come to any country. And the freer the country, the more that right should be respected. If we treat them as free and not automatic criminals, they’ll soon become as American as every other group that immigrated to America.

As for banning comics (or anything else), it is NOT censorship as long as it is private. A newspaper dropping a comic is the same principle as you chosing not to read it. Either way, it’s a right. On the other hand, if the GOVERNMENT bans it, that IS censorship and is wrong.

Redneck, bud, you ain’t big enough to get it banned. Too many of us gringos like it. Too many morons in this country forget that we were all “illegals” at one time!!!!!!!!! (Except the Natives.)

I have no problem with our southern neighbors coming to find work, but they should pay taxes like the rest of us. If I worked in Switzerland, I’d expect to pay their insane taxes too while I was there. Don’t you think that would infuriate the Swiss if we went there for work, benefited from their government funded services, but didn’t contribute?

I am reminded of the mother who wanted the TV show, “Married - With Children,” taken off the air.

She preferred the TV networks to censor shows and not herself.

The ignorant southern redneck in this strip doesn’t believe other should have freedom of speech.

Cuco Rocha, the humanized cockroach in this strip, like regular human beings can love all varieties of people, even the ones who are in the USA illegally, without approving of them being in the country.

Some Christians have tried to compare the undocumented aliens in the USA with the aliens in Jesus’ time.

But, in the 1st Century AD, the citizens of one country could travel freely to another country within the boundaries of the Roman Empire.

Most of the undocumented aliens know in advance that they will be breaking the law when they cross the border into the United States.

I read a situation in a Los Angeles newspaper when I was living out there about a husband and wife who came from a Central American country to the USA.

When they were asked why they came to the USA and that was done without the husband and wife together, each said they came to make money. They got deported.

But, if they had requested political asylum instead, they would have been allowed to stay.

There was discrimination against my illegal alien ancestors. They stowed away during the Irish potato famine, a little bit more illegal than swimming the Rio Grande or walking accross the desert. Both sides got over it.

Some of the nicest and hardest working people I’ve known are the hispanic laborers on our local farms. I’m sure many of them couldn’t produce a green card if asked, but I welcome them here for doing the labor that most of the rest of us won’t do.

If we didn’t want illegal aliens (Martians?), there would be no jobs for them and they wouldn’t come here. Stop the demand first. Pay a fair wage to farmworkers, non-union construction workers, etc. Then prices will rise. Of course, we could always just import those things from China. There is quite a paradox here and it will take thought, not slogans to work it out.

    Signed,
    Hopelesslly hopeful barracho

Why is the character a southern redneck. Are there not rednecks from other states. Not that the south is not crawling with rednecks.

Censorship is done by whoever has the power, be it the government, a television network, or a newspaper.
