    I wouldn’t use the banana in this one. It seems more of an oversized tart.

    OK, I had to do some research on this one. Custard powder is not a standard ingredient in the US, but apparently if you can’t hunt down the powder you can substitute instant pudding mix. Interesting.

    Custard powder is just corn starch with yellow colouring in it. Arrowroot would also work well. Here in South Africa custard powder is coloured with Tartrazine, an artificial chemical that can cause asthma attacks and migraines.
