    @Suzanne

    Cats climb high because they want to rule all they survey. Including their “masters.”

    This is our house: three cats, two dogs, lots of running and jumping.

    The only thing our cats were allowed to jump up on was their scratching post which had a platform at the top for them to rest on. I taught the children that it was the cats’ sanctuary and they were to leave them alone when on there. Therefore our dog and cats had to get along, or at least tolerate each other.

    Anyone who has ever had a cat in their house knows that cats don’t have “owners.”
