I’d be saying to Carlisle, “RAUS! RAUS!” – and if he didn’t move, then the squirt bottle would come out.

The day I sit on the floor while the cat sits in my chair will be the day I get rid of them. They may give me dirty looks when I move them from a chair I want to sit on, or move them over on the bed so I can get into it but I’m in the chair or bed not on the floor!

My pets were not allowed on the furniture. I trained them with squirt bottles and mouse traps. In the kitchen I’d hand towels over the edge of the counter held in place by aluminum pans. I’d put sticky tape (sticky side up) and the cats learned to stay on the floor. Mouse traps taught the dog to stay off the window ledge. I loved my pets but they knew their place. And, I used mousetraps because rat traps are viscious.
