   True. One year my husband came into the living room about 1:30 in the morning. He’d been working on our computer which was a novelty in those days. I was asleep on the couch and missed all the celebrations. He said, “Happy New Year.” I said, “Another exciting evening in the ______ household.”

   That’s how I usually celebrate the new year: fall asleep in front of the TV, wake up some time after midnight, kiss the cat, and go to bed.

   Kit has the right idea. No drunks to contend with, no tourists partying on the Strip, no traffic jams or Police checkpoints. The fireworks from the casinos would probably wake her up though.
