You folks in the USA know that we are close to war in East Asia, don’t you?
Just asking, in case you think that your presidential elections are the only world news that matters.

If anyone hasn’t looked at a map China’s offshore claims, they should. Opinion: They are absurd.
Clark Kent said, 8 months ago
China is just acting like the USA did at the request of big business (oil, mining, and farming) and like England, Netherlands, Portugal and Spain did before the USA.

@Clark Kent
I take it you haven’t looked at the map.

You’ve got your definitions mixed up.
“World News” is that news that comes from the rest of the World, not what happens inside one’s borders.
.
It’s also an “Election Year”, so this is normal behavior for us Americans.

Destroy our military, we can then cower behind our borders and no one will bother us…………. Right?……..No one would ever militarize Cuba, You know, Like put in Missiles ………..Right?

If we trade with other countries and have economic ties then there will be less chance of a war.
Let’s look at who America had ‘wars’ with in the past century and how the people are faring:
Japan – America won and rebuilt it into a superpower
Germany – America won and rebuilt it into a superpower
Vietnam – America gave up and Vietnam is a pathetic craphole
North Korea – America gave up and NK is the scum of the area imploding and starving. (the ‘close to war’ you claim is NK swordrattling and trying to get attention).
Cuba – gave into communism and is still living in the 50s.
Let’s look at O’s record: massive spending and debt, weak and a non-leader, we get no respect from other countries. The most limp wristed leader since Carter.
MM, your opinion is free to post and we have the freedom to laugh at your ignorance of America.

So what will the spineless lump of the existing president do when China calls it’s loans and demands we give up the oil in Alaska? God knows China has no environmental concerns and will take what they want any way possible and the fragile eco-system and endangered whatever won’t get in their way of getting what they want.
It’s coming. And the liberals will waste their time whining about ‘rethuglicans’ and Bush while the world burns.

^why is the ecosystem fragile, and why does china’s lack of environmental concerns concern you,
whey you say it’s all a hoax and man can’t change the environment?
motivemagus said, 8 months ago
China may be the biggest single threat to world peace, as they have been steadily working to create dominance in the region and ultimately the world. A totalitarian capitalist state? Funny how the GOP hasn’t managed to pick up on THAT little fact.
Ignore Ima, who continues to demonstrate ignorance.

Cuba never made its own missiles, and aside from that every war in history has had economic intrust
from the holy wars to the world wars there was short term money to be made
For an invasion to be economically sound their has to be a land bridge and a much smaller population, without land the cost of invasion skyrockets and thus cancels out short term benefit, whereas w\ith a larger population or even a determined small population, guerrilla warfare is almost always too effective to keep up an occupation.
Terrorism is a byproduct of the USA over militarizing and waging a constant war around the globe spending more money than would be necessary to wipe out world hunger each quarter of the year, to somebody whom is starving to death along with their family and village they will hold no high opinion of the states, and if a shady stranger comes unto them offering food for their family in turn for their life it may be tempting to take it
But i suppose in your mind people around the world shout i hate America because they are mean people and want to harm not-mean people
