    Hmm… now is this is interesting. What is this specifically referring to? Some of them have relaxed hair which makes me think it’s speaking of an American problem… is there a specific story this is speaking of?

    The cartoon ID is London England. Kind of depends on the definition of eligible. Does he mean economically independent or single? I’d hate to tell you what those puddles look like to me.

    He lost me on this one. Is he saying black women need a man to depend on?

    Dr C, all things take their toll, you just have to be willing to pay the price. All things in moderation.

    It’s been said a few times before, Kal (Kevin Kallaugher) is American. No idea what the cartoon is about.

    This is about the successful black woman in America being unable to find a successful black eligible man to date and marry. It’s a real problem- or it’s a real perceived problem- in the African American affluent community.

    I think Spencer gets the point. It’s one of the side effects of having more women than men in universities.

    Let’s see….how did men get wives when they were no women at all in universities?

    The issue HAS come up a number of times in the “culture” that as women have advanced, they’ve found a smaller choice in suitable spouses.

    At the same time, just looking at the fact that women outnumber men in America, in ALL racial groups— the pond has gotten smaller for finding a good “catch”. Ahhh, but think about the opportunity guys! (well, if you put out the cigarette, get a college degree, put your beer down and turn off the football game; and get a job.)

    ^^ If he watches hockey, he doesn’t have to stop, I’ll watch it with him…

    …but I won’t watch football!!! (unless a CFL team comes to Moncton)

    Those aren’t called women, bruce4671, those are called skanks.

    comYcs; You sound like my brother (and that’s not a compliment). He called every woman, including his own sisters, skanks. Was the biggest gossip I know along with he biggest homohobe…then I found out he molested his own daughter.

    Then I realized that no matter what I do, I’ll be a skank to him. He’s in jail now.

    I know you’ll say I sound like a b!tch, here, but I’ve spent ages 18 to 24 wondering; “I’m in university, I’m young, I want fun, I believe I have a great future and an interesting career ahead of me but I don’t want kids now…must find Mr. Right”

    Last winter, I finally realized two things;

    1 what is a mister right? and 2 Why do I need him?

    Strangely enough, as long as I was in “must settle down” mode, there was not a man in sight. Now that I’ve stopped searching, they’re all over me.
